For the first time in the 9 year history of the Outreach for Hope Family Bike Ride, riders got wet.  Yet, when they came in for the fellowship lunch, riders were smiling and celebrating that they had crossed the finish line, despite the rain.

This year, there was even more to celebrate than the “Finish.”  The 2016 Bike Ride Campaign reached its $110,000 goal, with funds still coming in that are designated for the Ride.  Thanks to everyone who made this year’s ride possible – riders, volunteers, and generous donors.

There were 315 registered riders at this year’s ride.  110 people gave their time as volunteers.  Sixty churches were involved, 47 of them from the Greater Milwaukee Synod.  Ten of those churches had more than 10 participants each.

Part of the proceeds, $1,489, came from the “Ozaukee County Family Bike Ride in Support of Outreach for Hope.”  Held on Sunday, September 11 at Christ the King Lutheran in Port Washington, 2016 was the first year that the northern part of the Synod hosted a ride. Thanks to all who made this event successful in its first year.
