This Advent may be a difficult one for many of us. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, worried by headlines of division and disaster, or wondering how you’ll make ends meet in the new year… it may feel hard to see the hope we all yearn for.

And yet, it’s in times of hardship that we are most called to embody the Christmas gift of love, grace, and hope in Jesus. Being people of faith helps us recognize that we have been blessed to be a blessing to others — understanding that whatever goodness we receive is meant to be shared.

As our country faces record inflation, financially insecure neighborhoods have been hit the hardest. Outreach for Hope’s Ministry Partners are walking with these communities every day…

  • Providing food and clothes daily to families in need.
  • Performing wellness and dental exams through free medical services.
  • Nurturing children in after-school and summer programs.
  • Bringing inmates hope through weekly worship and fellowship in prison.
  • Supporting parents and babies through education about safe sleep and lead-free drinking water.
  • Bringing dignity and courage to people struggling to remain free of drugs and alcohol.
  • Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus in these holy centers of Word and Sacrament.

As we celebrate the gift God gave to us this Christmas season, we pray that you would partner with us with a donation to Outreach for Hope’s End-of-Year Giving Appeal.

For 2023, we have committed to help fund 20 Ministry Partners (our largest group in years!) – and this December, we hope to raise $50,000 for grants to support their vital work across Southeast Wisconsin.

Your contribution makes all the difference to the many people in our communities who need your help today, as we share the Christmas message that God is with us and has called us to love and serve our neighbor.

Thank you for supporting Outreach for Hope in our mutual work of ministry, as we walk with our Ministry Partners who serve people through God’s love, grace, and goodness at Christmas time and beyond. And may God bless you and yours this season as well!

In Christmas Hope,
Pastor Chris Manke
