COVID-19 Appeal wrap-up: Thank you for your “Radical Generosity”!

The numbers are in, and we’re thrilled to announce the final donation totals for our COVID-19 appeal. Together, we raised $39,235 for the OFH COVID-19 Relief Fund and $39,476 for Project LunchBox— for a grand total of $78,711, exceeding our original $50K goal!

Your radical generosity is already at work at ministries serving low-income communities in Southeast Wisconsin:

• PROJECT LUNCHBOX: So far, 275 boxes of food have been delivered that will feed 1,100 people in Milwaukee and Kenosha.
• OFH COVID-19 RELIEF FUND: 17 OFH-supported ministries have each received a $1,000 stimulus check to be used at their discretion. For example, ELCA Outreach Center is using their check to provide Mobile Market vouchers that will allow guests to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Grace Welcome Center, meanwhile, is using a portion of their check to upgrade the electrical system for their pantry.

In these uncertain times, we are called more than ever to be the spirit of love for our siblings of Christ. Even as we close this appeal, we know that the need that inspired it is far from over– and we look forward to sharing new opportunities to answer Christ’s call in the weeks to come!
