Perifying Springs Park (Site #3)

Join Team OFH for our 16th annual Family Ride Run Walk fundraiser! Together, we hope to raise $160K for grants to our Ministry Partners serving neighborhoods experiencing material poverty in the Greater Milwaukee Synod, ELCA.

Our Kenosha event site features the following route options:

  • 13-mile trail bike ride on the North Shore Bike Trail (family-friendly)
  • 25-mile road bike ride (for more experienced riders)
  • 5K fun run
  • 2-mile walk
  • Volunteer options
  • Fellowship-only participant option

Following the rides, run and walk, all participants and volunteers will receive an individually packaged box lunch to enjoy outdoors with the community of Outreach for Hope supporters.

Location Details

All activities begin and end at Petrifying Springs Park Site 3 picnic shelter (555 S 7th St), just past the beer garden.

PARKING: Park at Site 3.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms are in the park, a short walk from the shelter.

Schedule

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your route’s start time!

8 am: 25-Mile Road Bike Ride start time

9 am: 13-Mile Trail Bike Ride start time

10 am: Run and Walk start time

11 am: Picnic lunch begins

Route Details

13-Mile Trail Bike Ride: Travel to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Gilson and Drexel Streets in Racine. Most of this ride is on the County Bike Trail. Return to Petrifying Springs Park. Download route map/cue sheet.

25-Mile Road Bike Ride: Ride on Pike and County Bike Trails and some city streets. Travel south along the Lake. Rest Stop at 20 miles at ELCA Outreach Center, an OFH Ministry Partner. Visit another Ministry Partner, Grace Welcome Center, a few blocks further on the route. Return to Petrifying Springs Park. Download route map/cue sheet.

SITE FAQ'S

What should I bring?

Please bring your cell phone, and come dressed for the weather and outdoor exercise (including a CSPC approved helmet for all cyclists)! You may also want to bring your own water bottle, and a picnic blanket or lawn chair(s) to use during lunch in lieu of on-site picnic tables.

What do I do if there’s an emergency?

If there’s an emergency on the route, call 911. For help with non life-threatening situations (ie, bike repairs needed), you can call our Kenosha site SAG Wagon Support at (262) 865-8747.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of torrential rain or lightning, we will post the cancelation on our website. No makeup date is planned.

What if I registered for the event, but can no longer attend?

If you can no longer attend due to illness or emergency, please reach out to us at info@outreachforhope.org or 414-671-1212, and we’ll make sure to get your t-shirt(s) to you following the event.

What should I know about attending with kids?

Children are welcome at the event! Please note that for their safety, all children under age 13 must be supervised by their accompanying adult throughout the event.
