Cross Lutheran Church is a congregation in Milwaukee’s inner city…based heavily in the goals of strong community and social justice. We believe in reaching out to the community and the people who live in it, with special emphasis on those who have been pushed aside by society at large. Among us, we have many who have battled life’s toughest trials, including economic hardship, addiction, loss, and much more, only to come out the other side stronger in their life and in their faith.

Cross operates many programs and services targeted at assisting those in our community. One of these ministries is the Bread of Healing Empowerment Ministry, which provides adults of all ages with support groups, food, medical and dental care, and employment and other support services.
2020 UPDATE: The pandemic led to a considerable increase in demand for food services. Cross stepped up with their food pantry, box lunches, nutrition and cooking classes, a community garden, and even food delivery (along with masks and hand sanitizer) to homebound older adults.
